About me
Mrs. Castro has been involved in education for over 18 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Wesley College, a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Phoenix, and a Superintendent Certification from the University of Texas at Tyler. Before becoming Administrator for Professional Development, Mrs. Castro was a principal at Oliveira Middle School, dean of instruction at Veterans Memorial High School, dean of instruction at Stell Middle School and a special education teacher.
Currently, as an Administrator for Professional Development-Leadership Coaching, her responsibility is to develop and oversee principal strategic initiatives including the development of new evidence-based programs and best practices. Her focus is on the development, retention and progression of principals and their instructional lead team members focusing on ensuring that every school is led by a transformational lead team.
Mrs. Castro has been involved with and chaired many committees throughout her career. She has served in various coordinator roles, including testing coordinator and 504 coordinator, led technology initiatives, and has played a critical role in many aspects of educational professional development.
